KVSC's 50th Birthday Celebration Oral Histories: Al Neff
Over the past 50 years, KVSC has been the training ground for broadcast journalists throughout Minnesota and the nation, and we’ve also been the playground for musically entranced community volunteers and students. With a little bit of editing (but not too much) these are their stories . . .
Al Neff was arguably one of the most influential KVSC personalities in the station's "modern era" beginning in 1981. In this interview, Andy Valenty sits down with Al to talk about the origins of the nationally syndicated radio program Into the Music, why KVSC is important going into the future, and how faculty advisor Dick Hill got a lawn mower to fly and how he was monumental in the formation of so many students' futures.
This program is funded in part by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Grant.
