Zimmerman Man Receives 81-Month Sentence After DUI Crash
Robert Johnson

Sherburne County District Court sentenced a Zimmerman man to 81 months in prison on Wednesday after he killed one and injured four in a DUI crash.

Sherburne County Attorney Kathleen Heaney says 65 year-old Robert Allen Johnson drove his truck into a Reliant Systems building in Zimmerman on September 11th, 2017, killing Daniel Elliott and injuring Kim Mills, Michael Milano, Heidi Olerich and Samantha Sanders.

Johnson had a blood alcohol level of .10 at the time of the incident. That's .02 over the legal limit for blood alcohol content in the United States. He argued for probation but Judge Mary Yunker denied that motion, opting to sentence him to the maximum term under Minnesota sentencing guidelines.

Johnson had previously been convicted on one count of criminal vehicular homicide and four counts of criminal vehicular operation.
