The wait is over, the finalists in the search to fill the St. Cloud State University’s Presidential post has been announced.

Minnesota State says the finalists are Brian Johnson, Daniel Shipp, Dione Somerville, and Robbyn Wacker. The finalists all have a wide range of skills and backgrounds, giving them all a competitive edge.

Johnson served as President of Tuskegee University for three years and has vast experience at Austin Peay State University. He is scheduled to visit SCSU on Wednesday, April 25.

Shipp was the Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students from 2012 to 2017 at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. He will visit SCSU on Friday, April 27.

Somerville was Bloomsburg University’s Vice President for Student Affairs since 2011, and has been a Director of Student Activities at Ursuline College from 1995 to 2000. Somerville will come to campus on Tuesday, April 24.

Finally, Wacker has been in various senior administrative positions with different leadership roles at the University of Northern Colorado since 1990, most recently as its Provost and Senior Vice President from 2011 to 2017. Wacker visits the school on Thursday, April 26.

The candidates will come and meet students, faculty, staff and members of the community to get feedback before the official decision is made. The search committee hopes to recommend the finalist for the job by early May.
