Archived: Crash Near Freeport Leads To One Sent To Hospital
A woman was sent to the hospital after a collision at an intersection near Freeport on Tuesday.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says they were sent to the scene of a crash at the intersection of County Road 11 and County Road 30 in Oak Township just before 2:20 p.m.
According to authorities, a car driven by 55-year-old Cheryl Kae Ziemer of Freeport was traveling north on County Road 11 when she attempted to avoid a truck carrying a gravity box. The truck, driven by 52-year-old Duane Lawrence Maus, couldn’t stop at the stop sign and collided with Ziemer’s car.
Ziemer was taken to Melrose Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
